'The Absolut Tiki'

A sounding hallow is carved into the body of the Tiki from the vertical slit and played with hardwood sticks. In Tahitian this is called a Toere. On some islands of Vanuatu standing Toere tikis are used to communicate from village to village, a veritable island telegraph.
